Symmetry in Kowhaiwhai

My  kowhaiwhai art represents me and my sister and my patten is a koru. I chose blue and green because they are my favourite colors.

To make the image to represent me, I traced around the koru pattern. Then, to make the image of my sister, I flipped the koru. I used the vertical line of symmetry (reflection) for the first two patterns in the line. This part of the pattern shows that we are joined in the same family.

Then I chose to separate the koru pattern to show that my sister and I have different interest in sport, different friends and different things that we like to do.
